Judge Moreno has been a district judge in Hennepin County since May 2006. He was elected in 2008, 2014 and 2020. He currently presides over civil disputes and suburban criminal cases.
Judge Moreno has nearly 40 years of experience as a public servant. He started his legal career as a Hennepin County Public Defender. As a judge, he had done rotations handling serious felony cases, civil cases, and family court disputes.
Judge Moreno is an avid outdoorsman and semi-retired hockey parent. He is married with three adult kids and lives in Minneapolis.
Judge Moreno's career has been defined by a commitment to fairness and a deep understanding of the complexities of the legal system. He believes that a strong judiciary is built on trust, transparency, and a genuine connection to the people it serves.
